The R&D centers are specialized in research on electronics, mechanics, chemistry, materials science, robotics and automation.
Eldor researchers put their passion and experience into working on developing innovative materials and on designing projects in the fields of mechanics, electro mechanics and electronics.

Work in the R&D centers goes beyond research. The reliability of our products is analyzed thoroughly and rigorously, up to the validation of processes patented within the Group. For this reason, the procedures involve painstaking and repeated controls, consisting of simulations and experimental testing.

To ensure an impeccable process, we also develop and test software and hardware components, which are utilized in our products and in our automated production lines, developed in-house by the Automation department. This complete integration in process-product development means that manufacturing levels and quality are of the highest standard.

Eldor originated in a garage located in Orsenigo near Como, northern Italy, in 1972.
Today, our headquarters are still in Orsenigo. In this innovative building with its futuristic design, working areas are interspaced with social spaces and reception areas.

Production primarily covers ignition systems and ECUs. Our process engineers work very closely with R&D technicians, automation specialists, and  experts from the robotics division, all with a common goal to engage in innovating and optimizing production technology.

Our collaborators have substantial practical experience and up-to-date technological knowledge. These factors, combined with our highly flexible production lines, allow us to undertake mass production of high technology for our Automotive customers.

In 1991, Turkey was selected as the springboard for Eldor’s international expansion. One sound reason lies in Turkey’s position as a bridge that ideally links east to west, to create high qualitative value.

After searching for the best location for Eldor’s Turkish premises, the company settled on the region of Izmir. This region offers and maintains a high quality of life and educational services.

From the very beginning, this manufacturing plant was designed to manage the entire production cycle (from moulding plastic components to assembling and testing the finished product).

Today, our Turkish plant can make every type of ignition system developed by Eldor for the European market.

Virginia is particularly business-oriented, with its pro-business laws, Port of Virginia access, logistics and infrastructure. We found top-class universities and a great community college, with programs dedicated to the mechatronics sector that will grow excellent young engineers with the skills necessary to run ELDOR’s advanced automated lines. Finally, the Roanoke Valley is a beautiful region with natural beauty and quality of life.

A major strategic objective is to be successful in the United States.

The first step came in 2014, when Eldor opened a technical and commercial office in the greater Detroit region, where major automotive manufacturers are located in the USA.

We then chose to build our manufacturing plant in Virginia, a business-oriented state facilitating logistics processes via the Port of Virginia and its developed infrastructure. Eldor ultimately established in Roanoke, positioning itself between two distinguished universities, Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia. These two universities have strong synergies with Eldor in the development of solutions for mobility in the future. Here our engineers can discover ideas and intellectual property, as well as new colleagues. Special study programmes in mechatronics prepare excellent well-trained young engineers with the culture and skills perfectly suited to Eldor’s high technology processes.
